Rotary Play Park
Case Study
Currently we are working with Cal Wadsworth Construction to document their renovation of the much loved Rotary Play Park. Created in 2002 in conjunction with the Paralympics it was the first large scale accessibility project done in Salt Lake City, it has been extremely popular ever since, but in 24 years of intense use, it is in need of upgrades.
Creating video content around this project has the following goals:
Communicate with project stakeholders, including the public, about progress, as well as the ideas and methods behind the Project.
Establish Cal Wadsworth as a creative thought leader in the construction space.
Expand Cal Wadsworth's visibility in the regional market.
Keep the project in the public eye for a period of months leading up to and after its completion.
For this project 6 videos are being produced. Five describing individual aspects of the project and one project over view.
So far the first two videos have been published with the first one receiving over 1,400 views on day one when the city shared the video on its website.

Video 1: Chimes
This video explains the plan to re-use elements from the original park in the new version of the park, including musical instruments such as the chimes.
Video 3: Coming soon
Many elements of the park including a large swing and a number of play structures are being constructed from natural wood, which has advantages and difficulties.
